Evan is off of the nitric oxide and the high flow cannula. He tolerated it fairly but had desaturation in the mid 80’s this afternoon so they did a chest x-Ray which revealed some fluid on his lungs for which they gave him a dose of Lasiks which is a diuretic to get him to pee the fluid out. The nurse assured me this is normal as his body adjusts to being off of the nitric oxide.
The best part I was able to hold him for the first time after surgery and give him a bottle! He was happy with me until the bottle ran dry..lol! They will start very slowly on the feeds to ensure he is handling them well. Due to the chylo they want to make sure his drainage output doesn’t increase.
He is now sleeping peacefully.
