Evan continues to be a rock star! They were able to wean him off of the nitric oxide last night and today they are going to challenge him off of the vent. They adjusted the settings this afternoon and so far so good! He has developed chylo (he developed this after his first surgery as well and is described in earlier posts) which requires him to go on a non fat formula which he is tolerating well. He does still have some right upper atelectasis (lung collapse) which is another reason for the vent; the hope was they could use the vent as a way to open up his lungs.
He is alert in between naps and even gave me a smile yesterday!
